The Lord's Prayer

This prayer is based on Jesus' teaching to his disciples in as found in
Matthew 6: 9-13 and Luke 11: 2-4
Traditional Version
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
 thy will be done;
on earth, as it it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen
A More Modern Version
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your Name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours,
now and for ever. Amen.
